Our Ongoing Activities

Neighborhood Clean-Up: Part of helping to deter crime is to have a neighborhood that does not look run down, neglected or as if no one cares about what happens in the area. That is why once a month we have a volunteer "clean up" in one of the sections of our neighborhood. Find more information and schedule about these vital clean up events here.

Community Walks: We have scheduled Community Walks and Neighbor Get-Togethers in various sections of our neighborhood to help provide a better awareness of what goes on in our area, who we are, and it helps to build a stronger sense of community.  Send an E-mail to gainwalks@gmail.com if you would like to walk with us or would like more information about the walks. Block Watch We foster the growth of Block Watch groups in our area. Our goal is to have block watch groups for every block in our neighborhood. To that end we provide support, information and assistance to set up a Block Watch group for anyone that is interested, or you can click here: How to start a Block Watch.
To order block watch signs for your neighborhood, contact Omega Graphics & Signs, 4321 Leary Way NW, 206-789-5480,

Newsletter We publish a monthly newsletter to provide information about recent activities and items of interest for the area. Due to the new format being used the newsletter will no longer be available for download or in archives, instead a new web page containing the current monthly content will be added each month.

Anti Litter Signs
Working with SDOT, Gain has been able to help with the creation of three new anti litter signs created in cooperation with the Greenwood Boys and Girls Club. They are posted along the fencing of the Greenwood Boys and Girls Club property. Check them out here!

Merchant's Trespass Project: we have worked to have all of Greenwood area merchants sign a criminal trespass agreement which will enable the police to move illegal activities out of our area. See this Seattle PI article March 2005 for more information. GREAT JOB--one GAIN member has delivered over 60 letters to Greenwood Merchants! For trespass signs click here.
