The horizontal plane of this modern roof structure acts to cover a beautiful bright and spacious pavilion setting that overlooks the surrounding Andes mountain ranges and Santuario de la Naturaleza Valley. Set in Las Condes Santiago in Chile and designed by Max Núñez Arquitectos the pavilion is a space for repose and respite providing a reassuringly tranquil haven.

Built in Katowice Poland and designed by KWK Promes architects this home features a vast cantilevered ledge supported by two concrete walls. These walls are covered with mirrors so adding a vivid impact and emphasizing the almost gravity-defying cantilever.

Wooden framed glass doors stand in contrast to the white contemporary walls even as brilliant pendants and oversized floor lamps bring both color and sculptural pattern into the dining room and bedrooms. The kitchen with a wine storage facility and a full pantry also serves as a cozy social zone for the entire family while a private courtyard with a sunken lounge easily doubles as a Zen-inspired meditative nook.

This is precisely the approach that Corben Architects took as they revamped an old and abandoned warehouse in into a stylish modern home for a family of five. While much of the external façade of the warehouse and its roof trusses were left untouched due to the heritage issues the interior was completely altered using a spacious central courtyard that enhances the family home both functionally and aesthetically.

White stucco creates a refreshing feel on the exterior of this next featured home. Note the way greenery in deep tones adds a charming element to the front of the residence! Manicured greenery truly shines when it’s placed in front of white stucco homes. The storybook feel of the plants mirrors the storybook feel of the home below. Note other charming touches such as French doors and matching urns on the wall near the entrance.

A long rectangular form is one of many standout features of this minimalist home. Add the clear cedar with a dark stain and you have the pefect blend of light and dark. This modern stucco home celebrates Japanese style especially in the front courtyard area. Note the variety of tones on the wooden siding and the way this diversity enhances the look of the stucco on the exterior of the house.
